Rivabella is a luxury nursing and retirement home on the Lugano lake, Switzerland. The residence for the elderly is also used as a hotel for short stays, rest and holidays.
Residents can enjoy a peaceful landscape, at the foot of the hills of this wonderful corner of Malcantone and with the soothing view of the lake in front of them.
The Rivabella nursing home has 5 suites and 42 rooms, but also eight flats (about 100 square metres) for self-sufficient people, which have the possibility of using all the services of the adjacent nursing home. A short walk through the garden is enough to enjoy medical and nursing care, physiotherapy, swimming pool, sauna, gym and a 5-star restaurant – on request, meals can also be served in the flats. The spacious, light-flooded rooms offer a priceless view of the lake.
B LIGHT luminaires were used for the lighting of the building’s indoor and outdoor areas. The alternating use of spot and linear lighting creates a graphic theme that is continued both outside, for the lighting of the portico, and in some interior areas such as the reception area. Here KUBO 54 CL was used as the spotlight and INSERTO MEDIUM 65 T as the linear luminaire, built as a custom version suitable for outdoor installation.
MAIA DUO stainless steel projectors were used for the illumination of some vegetation elements and the trees visible from the restaurant hall.
Finally, BASTER XS R was used to illuminate the museum room and some passageways and corridors, while ATRIA X1 R was installed in the spa area next to the swimming pool.
